May is the start of our summer months and also the rainy season. Many UK brides opt to get married or honeymoon in May. It could be due to quieter travel periods and also very warm weather with low humidity and is a fantastic backdrop to any dream wedding. As May is low season travel, it is a great time to visit the islands on a budget and island hop, combining the capital city with any of our Out Islands. In the Bahamas, we can guarantee you a different experience throughout the islands and the weather is especially accommodating no matter what activity you choose to do.

Things to do: In May, Green Tutle Cay, Abaco plays host to the Island Roots Festival, which is a celebration of the loyalists heritage and African roots and the peaceful cohabitation of both. Many activities are on display such as Junkanoo (local carnival in The Bahamas), a parade, live music at various venues around the Cay, and a conch cracking competition amongst many others.
