Shaunae Miller-Uibo proved just what an excellent athlete she is when she went against the best in the world to capture the bronze medal in the women’s 200m final at the IAAF World Championships, London, held at the Olympic Park Stadium, 5-13 August. To a rapturous applause from the home crowd, Miller Uibo was amongst the favourite to capture the title after disappointingly missing out on a medal in the women’s 400m final, just days earlier. The women’s 200m lived up to its expectations as Daphne Schippers from the Netherlands and Ta Lou from the Ivory Coast came down in the home stretch in a blazing finish to capture the gold and silver medals respectively. Miller-Uibo confirmed her spot on the world stage and is certainly one to watch at future champs.
