Family Holidays

family_holidaysLooking for a family-friendly resort in The Bahamas? There are lots to choose from. From self catering to all-inclusive resorts, there is something for everyone.

The Out Islands are perfect for a family getaway, with so much space, tranquillity and beauty around the children can enjoy nature at its best.

The capital city of Nassau offers a selection of family resorts with fun-packed action for children. Several of the larger resorts offer a fully staffed and supervised kids club, water slides and for the little ones, baby sitting facilities.

Cable Beach is Nassau’s largest resort area, and can be quite affordable for families, no matter where they stay.

A bit to the east you’ll find local ferries leaving every 30 minutes to Paradise Island ($2 p.p.), a worthwhile excursion even for those residing in a Nassau resort. For more on family accomodation, please see http://www.bahamas.co.uk. Don’t pass up a chance to visit the impressive Atlantis Resort.  In 2004, after several years of expansion with more posh hotel wings and a new marina, the resort began to expand its family offerings, with a teen facility called Club Rush. The sunken Atlantis theming should be enough of a draw for families, as visitors can admire more than 50,000 marine animals residing within tanks filled with “ruins” and other mythical debris from the lost civilisation. Resort guests enjoy fantastic waterslides emanating from a Mayan pyramid, several pool areas, a pretty interior lagoon for boating, Lazy River, terrific fitness center, attractive marina and highly-regarded golf course. Tours can be arranged for non guests; the day pass includes an hour-long guided tour of the marina. The tours do not include use of the pool, beach and slides. However, you can enjoy the numerous restaurants throughout the resort.
