The Dolphin House, Alice Town, Bimini Bahamas is a visionary project created by local artist, historian and poet, Mr. Ashley Saunders, who carved this house from sand, tiles, marbles, rusted chain, shells, glass fishermen floats, coins and cracked mirrors. Mr. Saunders spent decades constructing this eclectic home and guest house from materials salvaged from construction sites and the sea.
Today, this house is Bimini’s most unique and artistic structure, which attracts tourists from around the world.
Mr. Saunders conducts walking tours through Alice Town, which includes a tour of his structure named for the 27 Mosaic, sculpted and painted dolphins throughout. For more information on The Bahamas, visit http://www.bahamas.co.uk.
